Mutual Fund Choices in your Retirement Plan

Company retirement plans offer some literature on their choices. Usually, there is a chart showing past performance over one, three, five and ten years. Many employees only look at this and simply pick the best performers. This chart is only one piece of information. We dig deeper.

For example, many plans offer lots of good large cap choice, but less attractive small cap choices. Also, some of you may be loaded down with your company's stock, which throws off your allocation.
